The 3^rd Annual Charity Challenge Shield football match against the
Golden Pheasant FC, resulted in a 2-0 win for Shelton Sports.

The Pheasant started off in determined mood and came close to taking
the lead early on through Justin Gange who put his shot over the bar.

Sports had to re-arrange their side when centre half Nicky Fearn badly
twisted his knee in a challenge and had to go off with Man of the Match
Danny Blackburn dropping back into defence to cover for him.

Pheasant Keeper, Carl Higgins made 2 excellent saves to keep the scores
level, however Sports took the lead in the 21st minute when striker
Michael Tristram took advantage of a miss-hit goal kick.

The Pheasant continued to seek the equaliser and should have levelled the
scores in the 2nd half when Dean Bayliss put his shot wide from close range.

Sports defence defended extremely well against long spells of Pheasant
pressure and were relieved when Michael Tristram sealed the win with his
2nd goal of the game in the 90th minute to retain the Shield for Sports.
